Joan Nkiriki is currently a Ph.D. student in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Dr. Paulina Jaramillo. Joan received a Steinbrenner Institute Doctoral Fellowship and 2020 Presidential Fellowship in the College of Engineering at CMU for her research in East Africa.
Joan is also a researcher with the Green Design Institute (GDI) at CMU. Her doctoral research focuses on climate policy and modeling energy development pathways for low carbon transitions in developing countries.
